The Megavoltage Acceptance and Commissioning Service (MACS) is an independent organisation able to provide services, support and advice on the Purchase, Acceptance, Commissioning and Quality Control of X-ray and electron beam radiotherapy treatment machines.
On the 1st. October 2013 the first full quality control programme of checks were undertaken at the Glasgow Small Animal Hospital. This covered mechanical and optical indicators, the radiation field, electron energy checks and absolute dosimetry measurements of all the beams.
