The Megavoltage Acceptance and Commissioning Service (MACS) is an independent organisation able to provide services, support and advice on the Purchase, Acceptance, Commissioning and Quality Control of X-ray and electron beam radiotherapy treatment machines.
In November 2013 the local Dose Measurement Equipment at Edinburgh University Small Animal Hospital, Glasgow University Small Animal Hospital and the Animal Health Trust Radiotherapy Centre was calibrated on a round robin basis against a Secondary Standard Dosimetry system calibrated at the National Physical Laboratory against the UK Primary Standard.
