The Megavoltage Acceptance and Commissioning Service (MACS) is an independent organisation able to provide services, support and advice on the Purchase, Acceptance, Commissioning and Quality Control of X-ray and electron beam radiotherapy treatment machines.
On the 10th April 2014 a novel Source Constancy device which utilises the Distance Guage for the Varian HDR was commissioned. This device provides an independent check on the Constancy of the Radioactive Source and its delivery system. Coupled with the Source Air Kerma Rate (AKR) certificate and the in-house well chamber equipment for AKR measurement this provides a robust source check method contribution to Quality Contro
