The Megavoltage Acceptance and Commissioning Service (MACS) is an independent organisation able to provide services, support and advice on the Purchase, Acceptance, Commissioning and Quality Control of X-ray and electron beam radiotherapy treatment machines.
A micro-Audit of both the 6MV and 10MV treatment delivery including the CT scan, Eclipse Planning System and Varian Clinac Treatment Machine was undertaken at the Edinburgh University Small Animal Hospital on the 24th March 2014. The phantom contains a segment of Inhaled lung and one of Cortical bone, the extremes of electron density present in the body. Absolute dose measurements differed from the prescribed dose by 1.7% for 6MV and 0.4% for 10MV verifying the treatment accuracy.
