The Megavoltage Acceptance and Commissioning Service (MACS) is an independent organisation able to provide services, support and advice on the Purchase, Acceptance, Commissioning and Quality Control of X-ray and electron beam radiotherapy treatment machines.
A micro-Audit of both the 6MV and 10MV treatment delivery including the CT scan, Prowess Treatment Planning System and Siemens Treatment Machine was undertaken at the Glasgow Small Animal Hospital on the 11th June 2014. The phantom contains a segment of Inhaled lung and one of Cortical bone, the extremes of electron density present in the body. Absolute dose measurements verified the treatment accuracy and identified the limitations of the treatment planning system.
