The Megavoltage Acceptance and Commissioning Service (MACS) is an independent organisation able to provide services, support and advice on the Purchase, Acceptance, Commissioning and Quality Control of X-ray and electron beam radiotherapy treatment machines.
Between the 4th and 16th November 2015 the local Dose Measurement Equipment from the Animal Health Trust Radiotherapy Centre was calibrated against a Secondary Standard Dosimetry system. That Equipment was then used to calibrate the local Dose Measurement Equipment at the Edinburgh University and Glasgow University Small Animal Hospitals. This process ensured traceability to the Primary Dose Standard at the UK National Physical Laboratory.
