The Megavoltage Acceptance and Commissioning Service (MACS) is an independent organisation able to provide services, support and advice on the Purchase, Acceptance, Commissioning and Quality Control of X-ray and electron beam radiotherapy treatment machines.
On the 7th July 2015 a full quality control programme of checks were undertaken at the Glasgow Small Animal Hospital. As well as mechanical and optical indicators, the radiation field, electron energy and absolute dosimetry measurements of all the beams a seperate visit was included to measure and verify the radiation field size following adjustment. The work verified the operation of the machine.
